India became a republic on 26th January, 1950. Many congratulations to everyone on anniversary of the momentous day.I still remember the times when I was in school and Republic day meant a holiday - spent playing cricket, a grand parade with lots of pomp and show, mandatory screening of Karma on cable TV and kite flying competitions.
